It is apparently time for a change. There comes a moment in every week that is a day of rest. Without that Sabbath rest we become unhealthy. Sabbaticals are like that too. Like the rest of a Sunday dinner, my provincial has deemed that after 23 years of constant work it is time for the Sabbath rest of a Sabbatical. I will be leaving St. Edwards on June 28, 2015, after the 10:00 a.m. mass. As a parish there is much to be proud of. We have an outstanding choir. There is an exemplary core of servers and acolytes. We went from one bus to five and were commended by our bishop for our participation in the West Coast Walk for Life. The bishop has also commended our increased reverence and the use of Gregorian chant. St. Edward has become a beacon of light for those interested in learning more about their faith. As I leave St. Edward, please know that I will always include you in my prayers, regardless of whether you supported my pastoral ministry these last 11 years, or not. I take with me many wonderful memories and treasured friends. It has been a great journey and I will always be grateful. There will be a farewell reception after the 5:00 pm Mass on June 27.

Dear Fr. Jeff, I cannot express the grief that dropped on me after reading this "announcement". I believe that this is the 'persecution' that our Blessed Mother and our Lord Jesus have been telling us through the modern day prophets like Fr. Gobbi, Maria Divine Mercy and others. I have been praying for you for the past 2 years and continuing along with Pope Emeritus Benedict VI.We will miss you terribly.I have learned a lot and will miss your beautiful homilies, advises during confession and your love for the Latin Mass.May God be with you always and give you all the strength to be always Faithful to HIM until death. Love in Christ Jesus, Terry

Dear Father Jeff. Like so many others of St Edward, I am surprised and very saddened that you are leaving us at the end of the month. As our pastor for the past 11 years, you have done so much for this parish . I am very thankful and blessed that the Holy Spirit, working through you and your ministry, have helped me so much in learning my Catholic faith, the Catechism, the Sacraments, and the Holy Scripture. When I attended Wednesday night Faith Formation, you often challenged me regarding my knowledge of my faith and I quickly found out how much I don’t know! As an old sailor, I want to wish you “Fair Winds and Following Seas” in your new journey. I like so many others here at St Edward will miss you very much. You are a wonderful priest and special friend, and you’ll always be in my prayers. God Bless you Father.
