At least the Tabernacle has always been in the center. So sad to see it off to the side in churches.

Interesting how the old picture of the liturgy showed a church full of people. The new picture shows a priest...followed by a picture of a priest...followed by a picture of a priest. Says so much about what is important in the parish, and it's clearly not the parishioners.

Dear Beachgirl,
I'm a parishioner at St Edward, and I feel very important, or I should say, I'm made to feel my soul is very important. Every week of every month of every year the liturgies and homilies speak to it, and I pray that continues until the day I die. When I look at the "after" pictures I give thanks for the new crucifix that at times I cannot take my eyes off of. I'm not counting heads, I'm trying to concentrate, and often think of the words to the hymn, "Come Down O Love Divine". You can listen to it on YouTube. We are all different, in our parish, city, and world. I try to engage diversity and learn from it. Is it not of God's design for us? My motto in life, though not perfected is, "practice kindness."

It is Christ who is our center, not the parishioners.
