Jesus began to reproach the towns
where most of his mighty deeds had been done,
since they had not repented.
“Woe to you, Chorazin! Woe to you, Bethsaida!
For if the mighty deeds done in your midst
had been done in Tyre and Sidon,
they would long ago have repented in sackcloth and ashes.
But I tell you, it will be more tolerable
for Tyre and Sidon on the day of judgment than for you.
And as for you, Capernaum:
Will you be exalted to heaven?
You will go down to the nether world.
For if the mighty deeds done in your midst had been done in Sodom,
it would have remained until this day.
But I tell you, it will be more tolerable
for the land of Sodom on the day of judgment than for you.”
What had Bethsaida and Capernaum seen?
- --The mute had praised the Lord.
- -- The blind were able to see.
- --the deaf were able to hear
- --The lame ran about
- --The Dead came alive
They had seen mighty deeds but the miracles had not produced conversion. It did not change the way they lived. They did not repent.
They were no longer bad cities. They were now the worst cities.
Jesus spoke harshly so as to use every means to reclaim them for repentance.
You received so much privilege in being raised to heaven. You will be battered with greater punishment because you did not care to believe what was done in your midst.
So what about us?
It takes the eyes of faith but we see a miracle every day. Jesus becomes really present on our altars.

If our President and Speaker of the House don't listen to the successor of the Apostles, and we followers of Jesus are afraid to tell them they are headed for Hell. we are in trouble.
At the very least, we should be able to say they have placed their souls in danger
